Hello my name is Ethan Moran, I am a aspiring programmer and I hope this website get me noticed more. I love 3 things programming, music and football.
Programming
I first started programming during the summer between eighth and ninth grade by taking an online course on Codecademy. I began with JavaScript, but once school started, I enrolled in a fundamentals of programming class where we used Java. In my free time, I created small applications, including a blackjack game that was the most complex thing I had built at the time. I was also involved in robotics, which also used Java. After studying Java for two years, I took a web development class and learned the three core web languages HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. In my final year of high school, I took an IT class where I gained a broader understanding of computers as a whole instead of focusing on a single aspect. After high school, I met someone online who was a game developer. Following my initial attempts to create a game in Unity, I got his help and really fell in love with game development. I’ve made several attempts at making a game, but due to my own ambitions, I often encounter feature creep, and the project ends up as a messy codebase that I eventually abandon. After taking some project manegment classes in college I hope to be able to see my project to end.
Music
I love all music, but I do have favorites. I used to listen almost exclusively to classic rock, including artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Frank Zappa, and The Rolling Stones. However, in 2022, a Kendrick Lamar album was released that changed my musical tastes forever. Now, I mainly listen to hip-hop and rap, with favorites like Denzel Curry, Kendrick Lamar, Nas, Biggie, and many more. I’m always looking for more music to listen to, and I never want to stop learning about new genres.

Football
Football has always been a part of my life because my dad was a huge Patriots fan, but I chose to become a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan instead. At the time, I didn’t know Jacksonville or Tampa Bay were also in Florida, so I went with the team I believed represented the state. I love talking about football with anyone who will listen, because I enjoy hearing perspectives different from my own.
